Moving from grunge and punk subcultures into high street fashion military boots are no longer famous for their rugged, distressed look. We have all suddenly become sergeants within the fashion world and we want mirror-shine boots. So how do we achieve that military spit-shine look? Top fashion retailer All Saints, who were the first to introduce the military epidemic to high street fashion advise us to use a Kiwi shoe polish, a light amount applied to the boots monthly.
If your boots get muddy wait for the dirt or dust to settle and dry hard before attempting to wash your boots, this prevents smearing on the leather. Once the dirt is hard brush off the boot, from heel to toe with the hard-bristled brush, and then gently apply warm water to the boots with a leather cloth. Once the boots are completely dry apply a small amount of polish and rub into the boots until a faint shine starts to show, repeat this process 5 times.
Let me know if this method works for you, and remember depending on the colour of your military boots, be sure to buy the correct colour polish! For Kiwi care products click here.
